The design was based on combination of the chiaroscuro technique predominant in the works of a Western artist.


The design was based on combination of the chiaroscuro technique predominant in the works of a Western artist, Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, and Hanji, the typical oriental paper. Inspired by Rembrandt's intense method of expression focused on light and shadow, I gave the subtitle “Shadow of Light” through which pictoriality, and ambiguity are portrayed in the work. In order to put emphasis on such attributes, I counted on Hanji with the relevant features of pictoriality and ambiguity to apply the expression techniques such as water molding, DTP, hand dyeing and transcription. I Intended to embody the shapes of the characters appeared in Rembrandt's paintings by practicing water molding of Hanji, while expressing light through DTP, hand dyeing, and transcription.
서양의 작가 렘브란트 반 레인(Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn)의 작품에서 나타난 키아로스쿠로 기법과 동양의 종이인 한지를 결합하여 디자인하였다.렘브란트의 강렬한 명암 표현방법에서 '빛의 그림자'라는 부제를 설정하고 이를 통하여 작품안에서 공간성과 회화성, 불명료성을 표현함으로 이를 강조하여 보여주기 위하여 회화성과 불명료성 등의 특성을 지닌 한지를 응용하여 물성형, DTP, Hand dyeing, 전사 등의 표현기법을 사용하였다.
렘브란트의 그림에 나타나는 인물들의 형상을 한지의 물성형으로 보여주고자 하였으며, DTP, Hand dyeing, 전사를 통하여 빛을 표현하였다.


通过将西方艺术家伦勃朗·哈尔曼松·凡·莱因 （Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn） 作品中的明暗对比技术与东方纸——“汉纸”相结合，设计了这次的作品。在伦勃朗强烈的光影表现方法中，设置了主题“光影”。通过这种方式，在作品中表现出了空间性、绘画性和模糊性，并为了强调它们，采用了具有绘画性、模糊性等特点的韩纸作为材料，并使用了物理成型、DTP、手工染色和转印等表现技术。想要通过韩纸的物理成型来表现伦勃朗画中人物的形状，并通过DTP、手工染色和转印来表现出光线。
