This work started from the luxury goods consumption pattern that is uniquely observed in South Korea.

This work started from the luxury goods consumption pattern that is uniquely observed in South Korea, and the ‘Chanel open run’ phenomenon that captures this reality. I portrayed the South Koreans’ preference towards luxury goods through textile design by combining the narcissistic animal ‘pheasant’, the traditional painting ‘Painting of Flowers and Birds (Hwajodo)’ and design elements of Chanel. The home category products were produced by drawing motifs in digital drawing, and using digital printing on a silk fabric. My intention was to reinterpret traditional Korean motifs with a modern touch.
